What could have been?
The Past: We could speak of The Format in the present tense. We could eagerly await a new release, a concert, or perhaps just knowing Nate and Sam were out there making music was enough.
You can’t live your life kicking yourself about missed opportunities or wondering what might have been had things played out differently. Dwelling on the past is toxic.
The Present: Nate and Sam are still making music. Although it might not be together, its still great.
Lets celebrate that.
We’ve talked often about Nate Ruess and his success with fun. But what about Sam Means, the other half of the supremely wonderful band, The Format?
Well he’s making some pretty great music too. Did we expect anything less?
mp3: Sam Means – Love and Pain
from the soundtrack The Sinking of Santa Isabel (Amazon/iTunes)
While purusing Sam Mean’s Twitter account I happened upon this with the associated caption (or tweet?), “Our new band.” That’s certainly exciting.

I checked out “yeah yeah” from the same soundtrack, which rocked my world.
